Katya Borg – Biography
Katya Borg (b.1980) is a historical researcher of Maltese and Foreign painters. Her area of specialisation is Abstract Art. She conducted extensive research on Victor Pasmore, an artist whose work was not given the deserved critical attention in Malta. Later, she completed her Master’s degree in History of Art under the tutorship of Dr. Joseph Paul Cassar. Her dedication to research and art place her as the youngest researcher of Abstract art in Malta.
She currently lectures Critical and Contextual Studies at the MCAST Institute for Art and Design. She also assisted several cultural activities, keeps close connections with the Maltese art scene. She published several art-relating articles in the local press and assisted several academics in Malta with their research, such as Dr. Joseph Paul Cassar’s Conversations with 12 Maltese Artists in 2007.
