Pilar Monsell was born in Cordoba (Spain) in 1979. She graduated in
Audiovisual Communication (Malaga University, 2004) and in Artistic
Photography (Malaga Scholl of Arts, 2001); she concluded a Master on
Documentary Creation Film (Pompeu Fabra University of Barcelona, 2007)
with an Art scholarship by the Andalusian Government. In 2002 she made
her first short film */Time Machines/* and she  got the First Price of
Young Video from the Cordoba Council and acceded to the final selection
in the III Competition of Andalusian Short Films (Malaga). During
2004-2007, she integrates the coordinating and programming team for the
social-artistic meeting */Fadaiat/*/, /on the spanish-moroccan border
(Tangier and Tarifa). In 2007, she co-directed the short documentary
film */School Minutes/*, as part of a pedagogic workshop on documentary
cinema for young students of a High School (Granada). She get founded by
Iniciarte’07 of the Andalusian Government to produce and direct her
short documentary */Distances/*, finished in September 2008.
